This confidential database of organizations, service and programs for 2SLGBTQ youth across Ontario is maintained by the LGBT Youth Line. Organizations can submit programs and services that are 2SLGBTQ-specific or 2SLGBTQ-positive, and we encourage anyone to suggest resources for us to add.
This database is not meant to store or provide information about individual practitioners. If you are looking for a service provider please go to the Rainbow Health Ontario Service Provider Directory which “lists health and social service providers as well as programs that have expressed a commitment to providing competent and welcoming care to LGBT2SQ people in Ontario”: https://www.rainbowhealthontario.ca/service-directory/
Youth, and service providers working with queer, trans, two-spirit young people can search the database to find resources in their area.
About LGBT Youth Line
The LGBT Youth Line is a peer support line for youth 29 and under across Ontario. Peer support means that anytime a young person calls, e-mails, instant messages, or texts us, they reach a self-identified 2SLGBTQ youth who will listen to them and offer support, information, or referrals. Our youth volunteers are not professional counselors, and do not provide advice; through active listening skills, they provide a space for their peers to be heard, validated and understood. All the volunteers are trained on dealing with issues like gender identity, coming out, sex and consent, self-care, and more.
The development of this resource database has been a project of the LGBTQ Youth Initiative, which is led by Planned Parenthood Toronto in collaboration with the Sherbourne Health Centre, the LGBT Youth Line, the 519 Church Street Community Centre, the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Office of the Toronto District School Board, Central Toronto Youth Services, Griffin Centre and Egale Canada.
